The Bridges Venture Funds team is seeking interns for summer 2012.

Internships typically last 8 weeks and involve a range of work on portfolio companies, deal origination and deal execution.

You must be fluent in written and spoken English with 1-2 years of relevant work experience. Other languages desirable but not essential.

Head of Communications

The role:
To lead the communications and marketing activities of Bridges Ventures.

Responsible to:   
Executive Director

Background:
We are seeking a new Head of Communications. The right individual will have experience of managing an organisation’s communications from the inside. Ideally, they will have a combination of both public relations and marketing communications experience. They will also have an interest in the rapidly developing social investment space, although they may not have direct experience in the sector.

The role is either full time or, for the right candidate, could be part time or flexible working hours.

Bridges Ventures will celebrate its 10th Anniversary in 2012 and this, along with our current growth in funds and new business development ideas make it an exceptionally exciting time to join the company and lead our communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Media Relations - to lead external communications for Bridges Ventures to raise awareness of our successes and help stimulate interest in social investment more broadly
  • Marketing Communications - to oversee the marketing plan to ensure (a) the flow of high quality investment opportunities to Bridges Ventures and (b) ensure a regular flow of information to our key stakeholders
  • Thought Leadership - working closely with the Executive Director to raise the profile of social investment as a sector
  • Investor Relations - working with the Director responsible for Investor Relations on communications to investors as required

Skills Required:

  • ability to engage with Directors and shareholders of Bridges Ventures at a senior level
  • outgoing personality and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • ability to prioritise tasks
  • proven ability to work independently and within a team
  • flexibility to work within a growing environment
  • IT literate including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, databases.
